Does your office accept new patients?

Our office welcomes new patients. Because achieving and maintaining optimal oral health is the goal for all of our patients, expect to see a hygienist for a complete oral evaluation, including full mouth X-rays, examination for periodontal disease, and an overall oral health screening at your first appointment. Regularly scheduled cleanings at six-month intervals provide excellent preventive treatment for most of our patients. What is your payment policy?

In an effort to keep dental costs down while maintaining a high level of professional care, we have established a number of payment plans for our patients. Team members can explain your financial options and coordinate and maximize your dental insurance benefits. Contact us with further questions.

What dental insurances do you accept?

Our office accepts a variety of dental insurance carriers. See our links page for a list of SOME carriers and links to their Websites.

Does your office accept Medicaid?

No, our office does not accept Medicaid at this time.

Should I be concerned about bleeding gums?

Bleeding gums during brushing can be alarming, but the condition isn’t necessarily serious. Rough brushing motions or a hard-bristled toothbrush can be the cause. If you follow correct brushing procedures, and this problem occurs frequently, call us to set up a periodontal disease evaluation. If you have periodontal disease, we may suggest root planing, scaling, or antibiotic treatment.

How does your office handle emergency appointments?

When any of our patients are in pain, it is our immediate concern. If you experience an unexpected dental problem, call the office. We will every effort to see you as soon as possible. If the office is closed and you have a dental emergency, you may reach the doctor at his home number.

What about instrument and equipment cleaning?

Proper sterilization techniques for all dental equipment are a priority in our office. Dr. Smith and staff comply with all currently established standards for office equipment and instrument sterilization. Contact us for specific information on sterilization and cleaning.

Is your office HIPAA compliant?

Your privacy is of utmost concern to us. We adhere to all of the regulations set forth in the Health Insurance Privacy and Accountability Act (HIPAA). Please contact our office with any concerns.

Can you straighten my teeth without braces?

Yes, with Invisible Braces. Invisible Braces is a series of virtually invisible aligners that gradually reposition teeth. Invisible Braces aligners are comfortable, and you can remove the aligners for eating or brushing your teeth. Why do I need X-rays?

X-rays allow us to see areas that we can’t visualize with a manual exam, and this helps Dr. Smith make accurate diagnoses. Decay between teeth, bone loss, and other conditions can be seen best with X-ray images. Our digital X-rays are effective and safe—emitting up to 90-percent less radiation than conventional X-rays.
